Trade finance and documentary credit training teaches bank trade finance officers, corporate treasury staff and compliance reviewers to structure, issue and examine letters of credit, guarantees and documentary collections. Working through a live cross-border trade transaction in real document formats, participants draft a letter of credit, examine documents for discrepancies, and manage the transaction through to payment.
Cross-border trade across Africa depends on instruments that give exporters and importers confidence to transact with counterparts they may never meet: letters of credit, documentary collections and bank guarantees. This course builds practical command of trade finance instruments, from issuing and examining a letter of credit to structuring guarantees and managing documentary discrepancies. Working through a live case study of an African export transaction moving from order to payment, participants leave able to structure, examine and defend a trade finance transaction with real confidence.
