Course Overview
Employment law and workplace compliance training teaches HR and people managers to apply employment law correctly and build workplace policies that hold up under real legal scrutiny. Working through a live case study organisation whose HR policies have drifted out of compliance over several years, participants audit the gaps and build a corrected, defensible policy framework. Participants move from auditing the case study organisation's policies against current employment law to presenting a corrected framework, working the same organisation from a Day 1 audit through to a Day 5 framework presentation. The audit work is applied to real, dated policy documents rather than a hypothetical example, so participants practise the same gap-spotting judgement a real HR compliance review requires.
Introduction
Employment law rarely changes all at once; it shifts gradually through amendments, court decisions and evolving regulatory guidance, which means HR policies written five years ago and never revisited are quietly drifting out of compliance even though nobody consciously decided to break the law. By the time a gap surfaces, it is usually in the worst possible way, during a dispute, an inspection or a claim.
This course builds the practical legal literacy HR and people managers need to apply employment law correctly and keep workplace policy genuinely compliant, not just historically compliant. Working through a live case study organisation whose policies have drifted out of alignment with current law, participants leave having audited the gaps and built a corrected policy framework themselves.

Training Methodology
Case-led delivery built around a single organisation case study whose HR policies have drifted out of compliance over several years, developing across all five days from an initial audit to a complete corrected framework. Day 1 opens by auditing the organisation's policies against current legal requirements; the case then carries through correcting contracts and high-risk policy areas, and a closing exercise presenting a complete, corrected compliance framework. The audit works from real, dated policy documents. Cohorts typically bring together HR, legal and line management perspectives, testing corrections for both legal soundness and practical usability.
