Course Overview
Value-based pricing and deal structuring training teaches sales and pricing professionals to price on the value genuinely delivered to a client rather than cost or habit, and to structure deals that protect margin under negotiating pressure. Working through a live case study deal where a sales rep is about to discount heavily to close, participants build a value-based justification and restructure the deal to protect margin without losing it. Participants move from quantifying the case study deal's genuine value to the client to restructuring and re-presenting it without the heavy discount, working the same deal from a Day 1 value quantification exercise through to a Day 5 restructured proposal. The restructuring work is tested against real client budget pressure and competitive dynamics, so participants practise holding a defensible position under genuine negotiating pressure, not a hypothetical one.
Introduction
A sales representative facing pressure to close a deal often reaches for a discount as the fastest lever available, but a discount granted without a genuine value justification behind it trains the client to expect the same next time, and quietly signals that the original price was never really defensible in the first place. Pricing on value, what the client genuinely gains, rather than on cost-plus habit or competitive matching, gives a sales team something firmer to hold onto when negotiating pressure arrives.
This course builds the practical pricing and deal structuring skills sales and pricing professionals need to price on value and protect margin without losing deals unnecessarily. Working through a live case study deal on the verge of a heavy discount, participants leave having built a value-based justification and restructured the deal to protect margin themselves.

Training Methodology
Case-led delivery built around a single case study deal where a sales representative is about to discount heavily under client pressure, developing across all five days from an initial value quantification to a complete restructured proposal. Day 1 opens by quantifying the genuine value the case study deal delivers to the client; the case then carries through building a value-based justification, structuring deal levers beyond price, and a closing exercise handling discount pressure live and presenting a restructured, value-justified proposal. Exercises are tested against realistic client budget pressure and competitive dynamics throughout. Cohorts typically bring together sales, pricing and finance perspectives, testing the deal structure from multiple angles.
